on these very wheels

a buggy took us to town

we let our knees touch

the terrain was rough

disease and sickness prevailed

a wagon train rolled

a lifetime with you

more than any man deserved

hard times were good times

my sleepy girl rests

her heartbeats are inside me

deep rooted and pure

she loves to lick me

goobered and slobbered with love

sweet kisses I know

her passing will hurt

more of me will die that day

still blessed by our time

You won’t hear children

not on desolation street

no place to play now

the old timers know

but are too tired to care

that their town has died

Just the bar still stands

weary souls and alcohol

how did this happen….

long since abandoned

forgotten on a lone track

now a rusting shell

birds fly in and out

where children once laughed and slept

fools take pictures now

some still hear it roar

late at night when others sleep

a ghost train haunted
