As one foal watches me, three others are sleeping, while two birds hitch a ride.

Peaceful

The only sound heard on this spring day was the sweet chirping of busy birds.

Shot with a point and shoot at full zoom, this image is admittedly soft. Still, I think it takes on a certain sweetness which may, or may not, make up for its lack of clarity.

I have enjoyed the last several days in a quiet state park, and found this beauty standing still and snatching small fish. This image is at full 300mm and is hand held.

Four Baby Robins

I thought there were only three babies in this tiny nest, but alas there are four. Several days ago I found one tossed on the ground shivering in a cool rain. I picked him up and placed him back in the nest, and all appears to be well. Great stuff.

Nesting Robin

We have lived in this house for sixteen Springs, but only in the last two has a robin’s nest been built in the identical location, where a gutter downspout meets my home. Last year we had three baby birds, and perhaps the same parents have again nested. Joy!
