Two weeks ago the aspen trees in my front yard were fading, but still looked like this…
A few days ago after a light snowfall they looked like this…
I like both pictures and it really is refreshing to have a clean snowfall, but I will miss the fall once the winter gets a grip and it becomes too damn cold.
A very nice contrast, Mike.

Hi Mike, how are you today? Here it is dark and the clock’s hands are slowly moving towards 8 PM.

Marion I am well and my wife retired last Friday so everyday now feels like a weekend, which is really sweet for me, and her.
Here it is now 1:49 pm and outside it is sunny and about 60 degrees F. No complaints except of course for politics, storms, and hungry children.

Hungry for snacks you mean, right? š
It must be wonderful to be able to spend more time together now, I’m happy for you both.
As for politics… different subject please š

Yes but look at the rich blue sky and the crisp contrasts of snow and branches and think about the tack sharp views in the crystal clear winter air. Winter is wonderful; at least some of the time that is š

I would like it more if I ski. But I do agree it can be beautiful.

I can’t decide which one I like more. Thanks for presenting both Mike! I love the blue sky in the second one, but I also love the warm golds of the first. By the way, your light snow fall would be considered a blizzard here!

I thought that both of them would make a better presentation. Now winter creeps towards us like an unwanted relative.
I Don’t imagine you see snow very often in San Antonio. I better not see any when I pass that way.
Thanks for the comment Alex.

Love both images as well as the contrast between them. A perfect vision of the changing seasons. I seem to be a bit more accepting of my weather after watching the images from back East.

Oh no doubt about the horror back east. That is where I grew up and I still have friends there, so it hits me hard. There has been talk for some time about how NY would flood given a bad storm. Same talk that preceded the New Orleans disaster. It will only get worse with the ice caps melting.
Thanks for your nice words about my images Gunta.

I have to confess to preferring the one with the golden light and yellow leaves. Cold I can visit and enjoy for the crisp air, but I feel most at harmony in warmer climes. I have a son in Colorado Springs I’ve yet to visit since he moved there, but look forward to visiting in a nice month like June! š

June is a good month in Colorado, not too hot yet and cool at night. Colorado Springs is nice and right up against the foothills with large mountains peaks looking down at you. I prefer a nothing more than a little warm. 72 degrees works for me as a high with 50 as a low. Thank you for the comment Judy.

Whoa, living on the westcoast, looking at that second photograph (very beautiful, but outweighed by my concerns) I realize winter always comes. Distressful or what? Seriously though, these are beautiful shots. What a quick contrast.
