Definitely reminds me of my youth and riding in the grain truck. I loved going to the elevator. So many of them sit abandoned or have disappeared. Thank you for this happy memory. Great shot as usual.
Here in the states we erect a building to pay homage to the bean. Much like a church, people gather and recite songs and poems written to pay respect to the bean, which is thought to be a life’s staple.
“for he’s a mighty good bean, for he’s a mighty good bean”
Bean me up Scotty. Where you bean? Etc…
there is something stark about your work. It reminds me of Ansel Adams, with the juxtaposition of black and white with the shadows highlighting the picture. Of course you take the photos you like but they are always on point and quite alluring.
That is certainly a generous and well received comment. A comparison to Ansel Adams is more then I deserve but since he is one of my inspirations, I really appreciate this comment. Have a great weekend, Ba.

Great photo, I wish someone could do something with it! Old buildings and houses should never be left to just waste away… 😦

True that, although at some point it is less expensive to tear it down than to refurbish it. And thank you.

Nice pic Mike……But what on earth is a bean elevator? Here in the UK if we want to elevate a bean we put it on a piece of toast and use a fork.

Stuart, you have an open invitation to pop on over and partake in our local bean celebrations. No smoking allowed and bring Mr. Bean with you.

Sounds good…..
But I warn you I always seem to get into a fight at Fiestas.
Still… better a black eyed bean than a runner.
