I had an apple to share with these two who finally decided to come over and see.

This guy was the hungry and gummy one who took pieces right out of my hand. Now known as the apple eater, I’ll see him again.

Rest In Peace, Pumpkin

Friends, my sweet angel of a dog passed on October 26, just 5 days shy of her 12th birthday. Judy and I have been grieving since, and while we know time will soften this loss, Pumpkin will always live in our home and in our hearts.

There will come a time when I write a story about her, explaining in more detail who she was and what she meant to us, but that time is not yet. Thank you all for caring.

Big baby Pumpkin, aka putty nosed Pumpkin, spends more time resting these days, but will still romp and play, if only for a bit. Judy and I totally adore her.

I cherish this dog, and as I watch her age I worry about her and love her all the harder. I also have the sense she is doing the same, in touch with fleeting time. My big baby.

After more than 10 years, I finally got Pumpkin to swim by tossing a favored stick just off shore from a reservoir. She wanted it bad enough to step into deep water and grab it. I saw her front feet paddling back, stick in mouth. Do not tell her I posted this photo, please.
