You are on the western migration route for the Monarchs. In New York, we were on their eastern route. Always a wonderful experience having them pass through.

This is the first year I have witnessed this. Perhaps there are many more this year or they have shifted to the north for whatever reason. In any event, it really is remarkable.

Yes they are, but I don’t recall why. Amazing that those fragile things can pull off that migration.

We have plenty of Painted Lady butterflies flying through. Last week, not so many seen with the days of gray. But, over the weekend, there were many; even today in windy conditions.

omgosh! How special and amazing. I didn’t see a single butterfly this summer and thought that was really sad.

There were a million or more here, I kid you not. You live in the wrong direction, these guys are heading for warmer climates.
