Yesterday lives right beyond that door and if you venture deep enough you can reclaim ten thousand of them. At that point, the future is an unknown. Going in?
Stepping through is one matter. Tampering with the past, no matter how large or minute, will change everything – your life and loves, among many. Everything will be vastly different as you attempt to return to the present.
There is no return to the present. You are that much younger and take your chances with whatever happens in the future. It is risky in the sense that the law of randomness falls back into place and our lives can take on a different path.
great post Mike!
It does make one think!
and, the odds of getting a highly increased level of quality of life are far less than the odds of getting a much reduced quality of life. I will stay where I’m at!! lol 🙂
you’re welcome!
I really liked your post. It was quite thought provoking.
hmmm. I’d probably… use the word contentedness; happy, always seems to demand more.
but thats just me 🙂
Hmmm yourself, as your comment here is real interesting in its own right. I like your candor. Most people are not that honest and I totally get your point as well.
Mike! Absolutely breathtaking work you’ve got on your blog! I wanted to comment to say thank you SOOO much for taking time to appreciate the humble shots I posted on my page. It means the world coming from a photographer of your caliber. Thanks again!
Although I’ve never been one to dwell on the past, I love the idea of a time capsule. Cool point of view in your photo Mike. Is that a treat growing in this roofless old dwelling?

If I lived anywhere near you I would ask you to have a cup of tea with me and I would also suggest a fine scone. Nothing too good for my friend Susan.

And I would suggest cream tea ( a pot of tea accompanied bŷ scones and thick cream – delicious) if you lived anywhere near me!
