I haven’t seen a crabapple tree in forever. We used to have one in the yard of the first house we lived in as kids. Me and my brothers used to throw the apples at each other hahaha. Stupid kids.
I am lucky enough to live in a city that is full of trees and in my neighborhood they are everywhere. I have aspens in my front and back yards .
Thank you, Bren.
One of my mother’s friends used to make the most delicious crabapple jelly…..I’m feeling nostalgic just recalling the flavour…. And that’s led my butterfly mind on a memory trip through homemade preserves I have tasted over the years…..
At least it blooms spectacularly! I have a tree with hanging branches that blooms in delicate pink every year. Except for this… The frost that came in the beginning of April killed most of the flowers 😦 Good thing mine is not a fruit tree, then I would be doubly sorry.
That it does. Here we are having a cool and somewhat wet spring with glorious warm days mixed in. I was going to change out a sprinkler head today but alas it is 39 degrees and raining softly.
Would you look at that! It also rains here, in PA 🙂 The rain chased me from pulling weeds in my “vegetable” garden. That is the patch of land that grows weeds that are my height by the time I am back from my 1.5 month stay in Poland. It does have strawberries, but alas, they are there when I am not. 🙂
Now I know what our street [we live on (Lower) Crabapple Road] should look like!

You mean there is also a higher crabapple road?

Well, that’s rather strange here: Lower Crabapple Road is 15 miles … and then ends without an “Upper”. 😉

I would still toss a few crabapples. Some things I have never fully grown out of.

Indeed they are. A welcomed addition to the neighborhood, unlike my neighbors next door.

Such brilliant color – “eye candy”! And the deer love those little bitter apples too. An all-giving tree when I think about it.

Well it gave me a photo or two and I’ll let the deer know of its whereabouts. Thanks.

Kind of a lousy spring, eh?

Not really. At least the grass is green without using the water hose.
