Now should I be envious or happy, that we don’t have so much snow? 😉 Well, THAT much would be too much for my liking, too, but just some would be great. Here it’s way too dry.
Have a great day,
Pit
I like the photo, but I do NOT envy you the snow. The two feet that fell here almost melted, yesterday’s rain helped. As far as I am concerned, snow can fall somewhere where I am not 🙂
What an honor! I feel truly appreciated. I promise I won’t be too severe a judge of your photography from that trip. Which would be impossible anyway, since you are a talented artist.
It snows in the valley proper once every ten years or something like that, no need for snow shovels. I did all the snow plowing, shoveling and blowing I care to do in Michigan. The snow stays in the mountains around us where it should be 🙂
Yep, you always read about people dropping dead from shoveling snow. I think the experts suggest you push the snow rather than lift it. Also, take a lot of breaks. When people are shoveling snow they get goal oriented and try to shovel for too long to finish the job quickly.
We have had no snow on the ground here this winter. So far! Which is good, as Lower mainland BC people are idiots on snowy roads. Even Yuma can be cold at this time of year, so I’m surprised so many Canadian Snowbirds camp down there each winter. Great photo, but Brrr. G
Yuma rarely gets “cold” although it does dip into the 40’s at night, at least that is what I read. I have met many fine Canadians in Mexico, this time of year.
I’m on my way. Looking forward to seeing modern day Germany and getting to know the culture, including food. I will be staying with you, but not for long. Maybe just a month. Thanks Frauke!
With the 12 inches we had, plus the drifts, I divided my shoveling over two days (45 min each day). If I did it all at once, perhaps it would’ve taken over two hours.
I’m from southern CA… so if it snowed here, the one person who actually owned a shovel, if they left it outside (to say, use the restroom or take break), they would come back and it would be stolen. 🙂 Because some other person, would be unprepared and take from the “prepared for anything” person. That’s how it works here.
when kids were small (toddlers) we went to Disneyland and it was very windy, cold day. I parked the stroller and left the blankie in the storage bin while we went into Pirates of Carribean. Came out, and someone stole the blanket! We have to leave early because my 1 year old was too cold.
People steal everywhere, even at work from the refrigerator. They take someone’s lunch! But there are some places where that kind of thing happens with more frequency. I don’t think anyone would steal my shovel (and I do have one for areas where my snowblower isn’t handy, like my front porch.) If someone did steal my shovel it would sure be disappointing. Might even piss me off.
I know we can expect some beautiful photography from you in springtime. We are bombarded with squirrels and birds and new born critters of all sorts :), enjoy Mike!
They are making holes in the hope they can build a nest. And they can make a nest, but not IN my home. I have talked with the biggest of them all, a northern flicker, but he turned a deaf ear to me. This year I might just burn my house down. That’ll teach em.
It pretty much all melted away here 😦

Ours was almost all melted and then another 12 inches. Wawawawa.

Meaning you don’t do your sidewalks, you have a snowblower, or someone else takes care of it for you?

There’s lots of fun to shoveling. You can put it wherever you want. Snowblower, you need to be careful where you put it.

Yeah, to all those shoveling I salute you and say, have a great time!
