I am in Colorado and there is snow on the ground and it is cold.
This photo was taken in Michigan during the summer. I too wish for a warm and soft place.
Bingo! Although in Hershey it smells like peanut butter cups… Also produced by Hershey Company. I personally prefer Lindt. Although the best chocolate is Polish, of course 😉 No prejudice, of course….
I am a big chocolate fan but don’t think I’ve ever tried Polish chocolate.
And living with the smell of Peanut butter cups sounds good to me. I live in a small town that has feedlots to the east. On a day when the wind is coming from that direction….well, it’s no peanut butter cup!
Well, the chocolate whiff is only smelled close to the factory. I live outside of town, so I am familiar with other, more “nature related” smells when they fertilize the fields around my house 😉
Mike, love your photo! reminded me so much of the freedom of living on our little farm 🙂 these days, I think – we are all missing out on that kind of connection. wonderful photo! thanks, cheers, Debi
My wife and I lived on a farm for a bit when we were young and in College. Coyotes at night, open space, slow time. We had ducks and chickens and two goats. It was great fun.
Thanks Debi.
This driveway makes me think of friends whose place in the Cariboo I love to vist for the quiet, the ambient sounds of breeze in the aspens, the early evening play of red-winged blackbirds near the pond the fabulous summer storms, and yes, the crunch of gravel announcing the arrival of the odd visitor. G
Reminded me of where I grew up. Back then, I thought country life was boring.

Yes, for a kid it may well have felt boring. I grew up in Brooklyn, and it was many things, including scary.

I like that sound of a car doing a slow-roll over gravel…comforting is a good word for it.
Nice photo, Mike.

Is the weather like that where you are?! It snowed 3 feet where I live… I wish I were in your warm and soft place….;)

Hershey! When I was 4 we lived in Toronto right behind the Nielsen Chocolate factory. I mean 75 yards away. It smelled like chocolate.

I never really thought about the sound of a car on gravel, but you’re right. It is comforting. Beautiful scene, Mike. 🙂

I like the snow, but that warmth sounds lovely right now, too. 🙂

I don’t like the snow, but I do like you. As such you will be receiving my snow for the rest of the year.

The sound of car over gravel is a reminder of friends coming to visit, or delivery of the mail … all good either way!

True that, but I never liked a motorcycle over gravel.
