is this near where you live? or are you a traveller? i guess, as a fellow photographer, we are always travelling, chasing light. this is a really beautiful image. i could lose myself in it. stare at it for hours… so serene.
It is 25 miles from my home, along the front range in northern Colorado. The first time I found it was by accident, taking a detour home and ending up on a dirt road. I like exploring and discovery.
it’s stunning! my brother and his wife just did an extensive road trip of the west USA this summer – he loved the scenery. he said he near fell to his knees at the sheer beauty and magnitude of it all. stay blessed, keep shooting and sharing. it’s a pleasure chatting with you
Any snow today? My daughters and I are in SW Metro Denver with the horses, but haven’t seen a flake yet. But, it’s a mix of freezing rain and snow down south.
Gorgeous landscape with he frozen lake

Is that a ranch or a small community in the distance? Either way great shot Mike. Hope you have a weird and great New Year.

Some homes as well as some ranches, I suspect. Thanks John, and you have a great year my friend.

There is always snow on the caps but in the winter those mountains can be packed in snow.

What a scene! Mike! And all the better for monochrome….

Thanks Susan. Yes, monochrome with just a touch of color drizzled back, like frosting on a doughnut.

Hello Mike, It’s been too many years since I’ve been to your state. Someday …
The layering of both color and elevation

Come on down, or would it be up, given the rise in elevation.
