Above the town of Buena Vista, Colorado, rests the old mining town of Saint Elmo. A good four wheel drive, it still has a few people living there, and is a time capsule for sure.
I agree with natuurfreak: it does look somewhat spooky. The rendering in b/w does the picture good, to my mind. I’ve been to Buena Vista [my wife’s cousin has a house teher] but not to St. Elmo. May next time, maybe not, since we don’t have a 4-wheel-drive.
I would love for you to have taken a photo of those few still living there. They would be an interesting lot for sure.

P.S. I love Halloween, and the fact this is black and white (and old mining town, goes with Ghost stories) – this is perfect for the season. Eery.
Yes, it is a spooky photo and it would be cold up there on Halloween. As to the locals, most of them are ghosts, and it is hard to tell them apart from the living.
What a stunning photograph. It makes me think this is what the Radley place must have looked like to Scout, Jem and Dill in To Kill a Mockingbird! Beautiful!
It looks a little spooky.

You could do it in 2 WD but it would be a rough ride.
Thanks for the comment Pit. I often shoot for spooky.

What a great name for a town. B&W is so stark and compelling when used in the right instance. Great job. .
