A friend of mine from Louisville, KY was playing tour guide–took me to his grave site. It may have been mandatory for all Kentuckians to know about this. KY, the birthplace of A. Lincoln, the Colonel, etc.
I love when they say that free range chickens are better than those in the chicken jails. A dead chicken is dead, I wonder if the taste is different. Like wine experts maybe there are chicken experts.
Another great shot that makes you wonder about the history behind it. Are there really fat, wild chickens? We have big, wild turkeys around here but wild chickens?
You know I never really gave much thought to what might happen to abandoned farm animals, of course they would freely roam the range. Beats being in a pot of chicken and dumplings. Lovely shot and thoughts Mike.
… whatever it takes, let ’em roam, home on the range.. Nice shot Mike 😉

Too bad the good Colonel “Drumstick” isn’t around to have annual fat wild chicken hunts.

I saw the colonial in 1971 coming out of a Kentucky Fried Chicken in Pensacola. White suit, white Cadillac, white hair.

Ha! There are experts for everything and I’m sure the theory is that animals that live stress free are healthier and do taste better.

Well, it made for a good one line caption. I wish we had large wild chickens. Thanks for not being mad at me.

There are tales that they eat small animals. That is why I got a big dog, and keep my pistol loaded.

Thanks Laurie. That is one of my favorite images from a trip to Michigan. I had to work for it too, climbing through some bushes to get to it.
