But you took the road to the west and I to the south. I live near Tampa in a little place called Winter Haven. I even have a small alligator in the lake behind my house. Not bad for a city slicker from New York.
I just shot them again and they were all in a row with their backs to me, beaks forward. While they look the same, one is smaller, and may be the odd egg in. Or not.
The entire door is a face. The centre stripe is a long narrow nose. There is a line near the bottom that runs across the door that looks like a mouth with the tongue sticking out.
The eyes are odd. One eye is the centre door hinge and the other eye is the door handle. It’s like he had an eye injury with the ‘muscles’ of his face around the door-handle-eye drooping down.
Interesting. I’ve heard about this before … it is believed that the human brain is hardwired to respond to faces which is why most people tend to ‘see’ faces in random places.
Thank you for a very inspiring blog. Yes, I know some might consider it being ”only” photographs…but they speak to me. It is true what they say….a picture paints a thousand words.
At the point when autumn transitions into winter it is more like a kick to the groin than a wabi sabi delight. Perhaps when the leaves are blowing around and come to rest as beautiful and colorful remnants, there is a touch of the wabi.
Someone built that, board by board. Yes, LOTS of time.

I have a small concrete alligator in my front yard, amongst some landscaping. We call him Al.

I particularly like the door. Please tell me I’m not the only one who sees a face in the door!

I see faces all the time. Where in this door is the face you see?
