Hi Sue. Yes, probably phones lines as well. That house in on farm property which has a much newer house and several storage buildings on it. There have been a few generations of the original owners who have lived there, and it all remains in the family.
Oh that makes sense Mike. I grew up on a farm with buildings ranging from ancient to modern. Often older buildings still served a purpose like storage.
Having read your comments, I’m glad to know that the property remains in the family. I wonder if they have photos / journals of those who lived there and worked the land? I imagine a family living there, hoping to catch a moment on that front porch after a days work.
I had a very pleasant conversation with the land owner who told me of the last family who lived there. They were ranch hands. I believe he told me his great grandfather built the house.
Mike an interesting contrast of the electrical wire still attached to the house and perhaps the phone lines running overhead?

Yes, I remember that you grew up on a farm. This old home is stuffed full of old rotting junk.

I get an empty feeling looking at this beautiful work of art…I wonder about the past, the souls and life that is missing now.

I love this pic. And I wonder when ‘turn of the century’ will begin to mean 2000 instead of 1900?

I thought about that too. I guess 2051?
