What a wonderful photo…would be so fun to take a peek inside wondering if they left old tables; if it has fireplace that they cooked on. Very interesting, but love the bw effect on the photo or perhaps the cabin looks that way. Nice. 🙂
Well what a nice comment. I didn’t try to peek inside and for all I know someone still lives in there. I’m sure there has to be a hearty stove inside as it was in the mountains and would be very cold in the winter.
Thanks for taking the time to be so gracious.
HA! Actually the two homes were within 15 miles of each other.
Tom has settled in nicely with his cousin Eaustis where he has resumed his moonshining ways and when he isn’t passed out can be heard playing a fine fiddle.
Meet me there Amit. We’ll drink and dance.
It’s called grabbing your iPod without wearing your glasses. Must have landed a thumb on a wrong button. However…it’s a good time to say that I always do enjoy seeing your posts, old and abandoned buildings in particular. 🙂
Wow! What an amazing cabin!
I just watched a miniseries called Klondike. So my mind has been on the men and women in that day and time.
HUGS!!! 🙂
PS…I don’t like outhouses (like the one on the right), but it’s always nice to see one when I need one! 🙂
The editing on the cabin is pretty cool, and really brings out all the designs / stripes. I also love the clouds in the previous post … so dramatic! Awesome B&Ws!
Looks in great shape, nicely chinked and all that. I totally like the after processing you did to this photo. That brings out its timelesness even more.
I wonder what kinda’ stories it might be able to tell if it could talk.

Well not quite. As mentioned in another comment Tom is living with Eaustis, since his home caught fire while making shine.

Beautiful shot as usual Mike. If buildings could share their years of stories. Is that an outhouse at the back right? Or maybe a shed?

Good question…I’m not sure, but I’m thinking shed. Nice to hear from you and thanks.

But it sure is shaped like an outhouse, eh?
