My affair with autumn continues. Here you see a local home surrounded by aspen trees and kissed by an afternoon sun. Every year I have a brief affair with autumn.
Love the paper birch. These have become rare. Still a fair number of silver birch, but oak, maple and sassafras are taking over. I think birch need moe sun and are being starved for light by the heavy oak canopy. I see them more often along the riverbanks where they don’t have to contend with taller trees for sunlight.
Don’t we all!

Aspen trees are what these are. Birch trees are not part of this landscape and are not native to the area. But you are right, they are lovely.

Beautiful. I love the light in this image, and the aspens. How could one not have a love affair with autumn? It’s too beautiful to pass up. 🙂

We break up every winter and get together again in September. She never ages, and I look like hell.
