This image takes me back to my childhood. A tornado hit my grandparents’ home when I was nine and when they rebuilt it, they painted it like this. Thanks for the memories with this wonderful image, Mike.
Pretty house. They almost planted the trees IN the house. I laugh when I see that because Kelli always, without fail, plants stuff too close to the foundation. She planted five oak trees in her tiny back yard. When I objected, she said she’d remove some if there ended up being too many. She likes jungles. Actually, it does shade the house and patio. We had to remove one oak tree at this house that was too close to the porch after Dean built it onto the house.
Would love to roam the rooms of this beauty.

And a fine neighbor you are Susan. Let’s play cribbage and drink margaritas.

Count me in for the margaritas, but you would beat me hollow at cribbage! 🙂

Nice photo Mike! I wonder what stories and antiques lurk behind that hexagonal window in the attic…

That must have been both traumatic and triumphant for all of you.

It was; I think I blocked a lot of the tornado memories out but remember with fondness the new home. And your photo brought back the good ones for me.

Big oaks providing shade. Lord knows you need all the shade you can find in Texas.
