The Colorado mountains are spectacular in the summer and still have snow at elevation. Clean days, cool nights, frequent rain showers and the deep rumble of thunder echoing off canyon walls. Much to do, including nothing, which is often more than enough.
You got that right!

Such a nice and peaceful photo! And those clouds: does that mean it has been raining in Colorado lately?

The mountains get day time showers that are sporadic and strong. The lowlands are getting more rain now as we move into a wetter season with late afternoon showers. It is rare that we get an east coast day with rain all day. It is still way too dry here. And thank you.

This shot, and your description of afternoon storms in the mountains reminds me of every vacation I took growing up, when we’d camp for a couple of weeks in the mountains in Colorado.

Those sound like sweet memories, although I recognize much of that would be dependent on the particular family dynamic. Some families practice sweet and endearing, others not so much.

…and even families that practice sweet and endearing can get over it when those afternoon showers cause a little TOO much time in the tent….

Someone once said that ALL families are dysfunctional and I think by virtue of extended time together there is an element of truth to that.

Hi Mufidah. Yeah, I have become better at pulling meaning from slow time, and enjoying the soft movement in an ebbing tide. Thanks for your generous comment my friend. Hope all is well by you.
