  1. I love it! We have a pier like that in Keansburg, New Jersey. I think it did go over a mile. I loved walking on it at night with my husband, it feels like you’re out in the middle of the ocean — kind of scary! I don’t know if that pier survived the hurricane though.

      • Good deal, do find me. Our plan was to stay in Texas for a month and we did 3 weeks and had maybe one week all combined of really good weather in that time. The week we didn’t do was going to be really cold again and ah hell I can get all I want of that right here in a very comfortable home. The good news is I had no mechanical breakdowns, never had to use my .38 special, and still managed to have a great adventure.

  2. What a great composition and perspective! I swear the pier extends all the way across the water regardless of your insistence that it does not. My eyes say it does. πŸ™‚ You or my lyin’ eyes…

  3. Hi Mike,
An excellent shot of that pier: I like the perspective a lot. I have a different one of that same pier in the evening sunshine here: http://pitsbilderbuch.wordpress.com/2012/12/30/sonnenuntergange-3/
And then there’s that really long pier at Goose island State Park [http://pitstexasexpatblog.wordpress.com/2013/01/03/a-weekend-in-rockportfulton-part-2/]. Did you try fishing from there?
Best regards from a damp and cold [33 Fahrenheit] southern Texas,

    • Yes, I have previously looked at your Fulton pier photo. No, did not make it to goose Island but did take the Aransas ferry numerous times and fished from the beach park. That was great fishing!
