In 1949 this car was beautiful and shiny new. Now it is slowly being parted out, while still looking solid and beautiful. Time has graced it with colors and texture. It remains proud.
Well that’s cool that you remember it. If you are like me you do better with old memories but not so great with the short term stuff.
Thanks for the comment, eh.
Spot on description. Great photo.

Thanks t. I’m a ’49 model too but not quite ready for the junkyard.

Our first car was a ’52 Dodge. what a tank. I hated the car then, would love it now.

They really were tanks. Made of metal with a ton of chrome.

It has rusted gracefully and interestingly.

Looks like it’s painted in safari camouflage! Any lions hanging around?

I’d be the only lion there that day. Perhaps it came all the way from Africa, where it belonged to a rich safari lord. Lord Safari of the Serengeti.

Blimey! I just noticed the ’49 … which makes me one year younger than the car! I hope I don’t turn that colour!

I am a ’49 model, and look just like the car. My wife is a ’50 too, but looks much better than I do.

Oooops! I’m a ’48 – always was crap at maths! You’d look more like the car if your hairdresser gave you a few orange and black streaks. 🙂

I’m getting a haircut today, I’ll ask about it. Henceforth you will refer to me as “junior”, or “young’in”

My dad owned one of these when I was just a kid (1950 or so). He did, however, keep it in better shape.

That’s as old as me, but I have to say, I have fared better than that ol’ Ford – my joints aren’t rusted and my boot end is still very much intact.

I am a ’49 model too with only a little rust.

The colours are amazing, no-one could have painted them as beautifully as they have painted themselves
