An early snow in October did no damage. Last year a very early October snow decimated trees all over my town. You could hear them cracking, like gun shots, all thru the night.
Mike, when does the big winter break begin? I am ready to see the shots you get on your journey south. We may be back in the area for a bit in February. I will let you know for sure
We leave here on Dec 17 and return probably Jan 24. Yes, I am thinking that the smaller towns will be a treasure trove of images for me. I am also going to look up your first 2 girlfriends, Becca Jean Thompson and Sally Jo Johnson.
We just returned from a week long vacation in Alpine WY, just southwest of Jackson Hole. I kept thinking of you the entire trip (don’t even try explaining that to my wife). There were just so many old, deserted homes and decaying wood barns. Sad, but beautiful in their own way. Oh, and a few rusting cars and trucks!
I was glad the October snows weren’t the blizzard type of years past. Like you, I’m ready for warmer weather – but I’m thinking more like summer instead.
Very nice picture with the white snow on the green trees and that open fence makes me feel welcome.(Sorry formy bad English but hope you can understand me)
I like seeing the white stuff in pictures, but that’s about as close as I want to get to it…. 😉 Hope the coming winter is kind to you both before and after your break.
Thanks Gunta. Yeah, I got to drive a big rig towing car and bad weather will stop me in my tracks.
I’m with you, I have little use for snow. Nice to hear from you, as always.
The first snow is always beautiful, breathtaking, so great to get out there and sweep, shovel and sand the drive, walks and porches. Soon after reality returns and i hate the stuff! Florida we miss you, humidity, lovebugs and hurricanes.
Lovely composition with the white gate in the fence.

I always feel envious of people who live in snowy regions but your comments about last year make me think twice about that. Hope you are well, Mike.
