Michigan is full of deep and magnificent woods that are beautiful and peaceful…From my friend’s cabin on Lake Huron we went for a short distance and turned left…
And here was a section of beach to hike back on to find his great cabin…
It’s great to have a wonderful and generous friend with a home on the beach.

Right on Mike! Did your friend mention how the lake levels have been a little low the last few years? My wife and I drove from Port Huron to Algonac last weekend, it was obvious in the marinas and canals just how low the water level is. Tough to get certain watercraft in and out.

I don’t recall that he told me that John but water levels are low everywhere because of the drought so it stands to reason.

What a great place to live. It must be wonderful to be able to head into the woods or sea whenever you feel like it.

It is a summer home for him, as it gets real cold in Michigan during the winter, especially on a frozen lake.

Did Pumpkin go swimming? (That’s one mighty tall antenna there.)

I went alone and flew, so no Pumpy on that trip. She would have LOVED it there. Perhaps next summer we take the motorhome.

Ah… just one reason I avoid flying if at all possible. I’ve subscribed to the notion that the journey is the destination.

Yes, but a slow journey requires time. My choice was not to be away from my wife for an extended amount of time. She retires in 5 weeks, and we will have nothing but time, and very little money 😉

Funny how that works. Seems like most of my life I either had the time or the money for leisurely travel, but never both at the same time. These days I could use just a bit of extra stamina…. 😉

There where the sea ends and the shore starts I would like to sit for a while and think of nothing. Just enjoy the beauty.
Awesome picture Mike. 😀

Sometimes comments get away from me and this is one. Sorry. I too like to sit and think of nothing. It is pure and grounding.
