An old Michigan barn with a mini door is surrounded by some interesting brushed bricks. The combination of faded paint, texture, and dry wood makes for an interesting image.
I agree with wolke… my first thought was blood. Very creepy. Ritual Santerian sacrifices that made the walls bleed? Love the photograph, as always, Mike.
Well I concede that people see blood here. It just wasn’t my area of focus and I’m more about the bricks which I wonder how they came to look like that?
Thanks for the comment, eh.
I do as well and I am almost certain that someone will want to buy 45,000 prints at $50 (U.S) each. When that happens, and it should be this week some time, I will embark on a world wide tour. May I stop in and say hello?
The paint just under the door was protected from the elements by being in the shade and was protected from rain by being under the door frame which also provided the shade.
Beautiful, Mike…just a touch of paint….

Blood bleached off the walls? 😀 I love the character of the whole picture.

I also thought of blood, something like Hellraiser goes to Michigan or something like it. 🙂

And I never considered blood. Perhaps I lack imagination….

My first thought did roam to the Passover story in the Bible. (Another reference to blood). Very nice photo.

Love the red brush strokes and the texture of the bricks. Glad you didn’t do b&w on this!

Thanks Paul. I didn’t even consider b&w as I too loved the colors and textures. I really appreciate your comment.

Ran out of red spray paint? Just rather weird.

I think it just all got bleached and weathered away.

and the red that remains was more protected from the elements? I say it still looks weird.
