I can’t tell you how many species a dead tree (there’s a name for it and I can’t bring it to mind) will create environment for. Every since the huge old hickories in the back came down we have noticed a reduction in chickadee and woodpecker populations. All kinds of woodpeckers… and flickers etc.
Hi, Mike, I hear that if you nail a piece of thick wood over where they are pecking they’ll peck on that instead. But I know what you mean when wildlife runs amuck endangering our well being. Right now I have a groundhog that has decided that my foundation has got to go!
Sadly, the avatar represents the good ole days… like many of your images. But your response cracked me up, as usual! Far too many possible puns here. I think I’ll quit now.
On that exchange, I quit, too. I always read until I reach heart-butt’s comment and your reply. Then I smile or laugh out loud and go home. Nice, guys. 🙂
What a beautiful sky! And I love the starkness of the tree. Your eye is wonderful, Mike!

I know gothic, as in dark and slightly disturbing. If you love it I love it. Thanks.

Woodpeckers are ok unless they are pecking on your home, like the woodpeckers here do. Pinocchio wouldn’t stand a chance.
