While motorcycling through the countryside I found a beautiful old bus sitting in someone’s yard next to a field of corn. I love old buses and had to creep carefully for this shot.Β© 2012 Michael Fiveson
The bus is painted with the words ‘Impacto Tropical’ and a Google search provided me this image of a Spanish speaking band…
Sometimes you find interesting things in the middle of nowhere.
What a wonderful tool Google is, to provide us with such information instantly! π

Agreed. Does it make us smarter? Perhaps.

What a find! If that’s the band’s bus, it makes me wonder what the story is behind it ending up there.

I think they tour in Colorado and note that the tires have air and the bus may in fact be fully functional.

I would go crazy without google π That s a great looking bus, for sure it has a million interesting stories to tell π

Yes Google has become an important element to modern life, although some might argue that life was better with none of that. Me, I don’t argue. Anymore.

Hahahaha, maybe their tour bus broke down and they were abducted by aliens? By the way, their bus is not as cool as The Who’s. http://www.trashbags.net.au/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/The-Who-Magic-Bus.jpg

Perhaps they ran out of “c”

Nice one!! I was trying not to be seen as I was on someones property, in a cornfield to be precise.

Which, in some situations, could make you all the more conspicuous. Glad to see you got your shot unscathed!

Loved this post, from the way you “acquired” the photo by creeping up to it and your research as well. It reminds me of the old photos of other people’s relatives that I collect. Simply find one name scribbled in pencil on the back of a 1910 photo, start Googling, and you find yourself immersed in a connection to the past—and it’s not even your family and you get obsessed with learing everything about them. Thanks for sharing!
