A door without a knob sits surrounded by old bricks. A single light bulb reflects behind the glass top. The powder like material at the foot of this door is hail from a major storm the night before.
I look through the window of a door with no knob and see a moon lighting the distance. Many mysteries unfold behind this door if you can only find your way over the frozen threshold and through its enigmatic entrance.
Hotel California. Jesus, did I actually know a song reference?
Keen observation about the door opening from the inside. You are right. Hmmm. That is most unusual.
Funny, but my husband, a pastor, preached today about doors with knobs only on the inside, comparing them to Jesus standing at the door and knocking and he won’t open, but wants us to open it and let him in.
Love the lines and the colour. And the powder on the ground makes me think of fairy dust the way it’s lit. The window looks like the moon in an otherwise dark sky, further signs there’s fae within. Maybe there’s no knob on the outside because the fae must invite you in.
What a peculiarly tall door, it seems stretched towards the upper half. How do you get in and out, did you try pushing it?

I believe it is now sealed and was once a back door. There would be a front door but I did not take note. Hi Lorna.

Or is it the angle you took the picture at? If it is not the angle and it is a tall door, what was it used for? That is a story in and of itself.

I’m thinking it is an old door that is perhaps a bit taller than most but not as tall as it appears. Will have to go back and take a closer look, eh.

Not in that town. Long way from Harlem.

Doors without doorknobs scare me…I want to break them down and find out what is so secret behind them.
A fine shot, Mike, and Happy Father’s Day!

You can see the stress lines of the building eh?

Yes you can. Old building being crushed by time.

I reckon is somebody opened the door the whole wall would fall down – probably why there’s no handle? 😉

That brick, while stressed, is still reliable. Otherwise building codes would shut that building down.
Thank you for the look and comment Stephen.

Maybe you can check in any time you like but you can never leave: The door looks as if it opens inward…..strange no?

That’s an awesome photograph and I like the cracks on the wall. They give character to the picture and the door.
