Hi Michele. I don’t know that I said dandelion yellow but I might if dandelion was not too bright as this barn was toned down just a wee bit.
Where is your barn located?
Mike, that is wonderful… Road trip! 😀 I trust you will take lots of photos for us. 🙂 I do hope you have a fun-filled, safe journey, wherever it may lead!
Thanks Tina. Just part of living with things like motor homes. If I don’t go this weekend, we’ll just go next weekend. You are kind of sweet, you know.
Wow, now how different is this! I just saw a door that you would love the other day, nothing new, of course…I’ll have to snap that shot. This looks so…new…and…fresh!
Yellow is known as the ‘color of hope’…this shot imparts serenity, contentment. A real beauty, Mike…and, though you are not quite as ‘old’ as you make out to be, I must thank you again for your wonderful shots of CO…a place I’ve never been.
I googled “history of painted barns” to see if I could find out why they are painted the way they are. It appears that through time red became the standard because it was easy for the farmers to mix from scratch and was cheap. Then whitewash became cheaper and barns began to pop up white. Now it doesn’t matter, really. All colors are available. I really like this yellow one. So happy!
I thought it was stunning. I read once that the fastest selling homes were yellow. So if its ok to paint our barns any color we want, mine (the one I’ll never have) will not be red. I think I’ll take a poll and leave it up to my horses.
This is the first yellow barn I’ve ever seen! Not bad at all Mike! 🙂 Great shot!

Dandelion yellow! (According to Crayola anyway). It looks like a giant Easter basket. Love the picture Mike. Beautiful capture, as usual.

Crayola is the definitive master for color definition. Even better than Sherwin Williams.
