In my continuing search for rotting and textured things, I came across this old house and its nice display of colored wood. A patchwork of doors and other pieces of wood complete this decaying home.
I think we would well on a photo walk. We seem to be drawn to similar things. I used the word decaying in a positive way in my most recent post. Perhaps it is just the age talking!
Oops, I meant, on your “Old House” there’s a couple of really good door photos just waiting to be exploited! I’m not exploiting doors right now. Though I’ve considered it.
I would love to live in this house… I can imagine red squared curtains with lace… and window flowers… of course should get a restoration too… 🙂 I loved it so much, you caaptured so nicely, the wooden is great… Thank you dear Mike, with my love, nia
You can’t believe 🙂 I worked on your old house and I added something, if you don’t mind can I post on my blog by giving your link, because the original is yours 🙂 I tried to decorate it a little bit… You are welcome dear Mike, if I were there it would be so nice, I would learn so many things from you, dear Mike. Thanks and Love, nia
Definitely built before the days of Lowe’s and Home Depot. I like the framing using the tree on the left and the contrast of textures between it and the house. The doors are compelling but it’s that upper window that my eyes focus on. I imagine someone hidden and peeking out from behind that curtain….
No, you’re not nuts. I see it too. It’s like they’re pulling the curtain down to have a look out. It looks like of the guys from Anonymous. You may have stumbled on their head-quarters!!
I see a strange figure on the top window, all in white, next to the curtain, like a ghost peeking out to see who’s taking the photo!
It’s a beautiful picture, by the way…
😀
There were several locks on the outside and I made no attempt to get in, as it felt threatening and a tad creepy. Someone may well have been inside.
Thanks for the comment Marcel.
I was wondering the same thing as Marcel, has it been abandoned? The windows seem to still have glass in them. Nice photo, I love all the shades of brown.
Great picture! I’ve always loved old houses and barns. They’re so mysterious and interesting and they conjure stories that I’m always ready to write to see where they go.
Love it. I think half the fun of taking these kinds of shots is the adventure of exploring the site itself. Rock on!

Hmmm . . . decaying? Maybe, but still better shape than many I’ve seen.
It still has windows . . . that’s the equivalent of not having any gray hair.

funny you should say that because if you zoom in on that window, it does appear that someone is hiding and peeking.

You mean over the top, where the curtain loops down?

Yes, right side of window. Figure with white hair, or am I nuts?
