Another Door

I am drawn to old rotting doors like a fly to food. Buzzing around the industrial end of my town I find the occasional gem, replete with rusting hinges.

  1. This is the right door. Behind it are all the wonderful bits of rusted metal, tree roots, bits of old engines, shells, broken glass and crockery, twigs and other delightful detritus that I have collected and then had to part with on my many moves from here to there and back again. This is the door that opens up to reveal my lost collections. Definitely this one.

  3. The hinges are great….as is the texture of the wood, but my eyes are drawn to the miss-matched, asymmetrical placement of the bricks surrounding the door. I like it, but can’t help wondering why it was done so. Nice shot Mike. I like things that make me wonder.

  4. So not fair! I am having a love affair with your doors!!! Today is a beautiful day, I think I’ll go down to the shady side of town and find my own doors to photograph. I’ve been meaning to do that for a long time anyway. Great photo.

  5. Great shot… interesting material you are finding! Down here we say “drawn like a fly to sh*t!” I know… we country folks say it like we see it! Keep your camera handy… you have an architectural eye!
