Blue Claw

For those of you who were hoping for a blue claw, hope no more. I would like to have seen the rest of this crab, but alas I only found a claw. You may call me clueless, if you must, but do not call me clawless. Or silly. Photo taken on Copano Bridge Pier, Texas.

Fishing in Port Aransas, Texas, was quite a bit of fun and I caught some big salt water catfish which I promptly threw back. At one point this huge ship was making it’s way into the Gulf and was much more impressive than the bony catfish. A quick google search:

This image was found in a small town in Texas. I don’t know what it might have been but on the lower left one can still see ‘since 1927′, suggesting this was once a store front. It also has the look of a saloon, or even a restaurant. Thoughts?
Vanishing Texas Home

An old home with a roof that has taken on the color of the surrounding grass. I did not venture inside as there were mosquitoes the size of raisins, and the house does not look inviting. When I climbed back into my car I captured two mosquitoes who are now traveling with a circus and can be seen along with a bearded lady, sword swallower, and goat boy.

I think these birds are both beautiful and bizarre. This guy sat nearby as I fished, hoping for some treat along the way. I left him some squid, and bid him a good day.

This is the view from the end of the Fulton fishing pier in Texas. While it was a good walk to reach the end it did not go on for miles as this photo suggests. And not a bite that day!
Pa Paw’s Boys

This big beauty was docked with it’s engine running and the captain was on board doing some paperwork in the pilot house. I did not get to talk to him but the boat was clean and the engine idled smoothly. As to the name of this trawler, that will remain a mystery.

We are on the way back to Colorado from an extended stay in Texas where I had sporadic internet making me more insane than I already was. Speaking of insane, there are some strange things to be found in Texas and hopefully this photo shows what I mean.
