My soul is most at rest at the water’s edge, and in south Texas that need is met with fishing and sight seeing. In this image we see a handsome boat, a little time worn, but looking stout and sea worthy. Today I enjoyed large and fresh shrimp, it was SO good.

Oooh, fresh shrimp – yummy. Interesting boat…
Big time delicious. 2 Lbs large shrimp. A feast.
Beautiful boat Mike. Is it a trawler? I could really go for some fresh gulf shrimp right about now!
It may well be a trawler. I bought my shrimp from another boat….
Gorgeous.
Thank you very much.
Hi Mike,
We certainly enhoy the Gulf Coast, too. Our favourite destinations are Port Aransas [http://pitstexasexpatblog.wordpress.com/2011/08/09/a-day-in-port-a/] and Rockport [http://pitstexasexpatblog.wordpress.com/category/cities/rockport/].
I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,
Pit
We are in Rockport. It really is lovely down here Pit.
Hi M ike,
I’m glad you’re enjoying Rockport.
I really need to put up more in my blog anout my Rockport experience. Hopefully soon.
Take care,
Pit
I really do like it here. Take care.
That’s a fine boat. I’m so glad you get to the coast Mike and that your soul is a rest when you’re there. As you’ve probably guessed by now, it has that affect on me also.
I have deduced that you, like me, crave the ocean. I was born by the sea, I expect that one day I will perish by the sea, but not in it!
How wonderful for you…and I’m so glad that we all survived the apocalypse….
That whole Mayan thing actually was of some concern to me. Now that I am here to tell you that I expect I am immortal. A mixed blessing in my opinion.
I remember that it was a concern of yours, Mike…that’s why I mentioned that I’m glad we all survived it. And I guess that means that we’re all immortal, too, right? That might not be such a good thing for some of us (others). I’m happy you’re still around.
And I you, brother mine.
Drooling here over those shrimp. There’s nothing quite like the water’s edge. Have fun!
Thanks Gunta. The shrimp was incredible. More more to follow.
Water and boats and sunshine…..we’re keeping an eye out for snow this week. I’m gonna stare at this gorgeous photo and think of Spring and warm weather
There are a lot of palm trees in south Texas. Who knew!
Sounds like a lovely day. I guess shrimp is what we call prawns here. The ones we call shrimp are teeny-tiny things that you get on pizza. Prawns are popular for Christmas BBQ food. Yummy! Merry Christmas Mike!
Over on this side of the globe we have prawns too but they are really huge shrimp. The shrimp we just ate were 3″ and thick. I have had prawns that are 6″ and really delicious. Happy holidays Katherine!
Thanks Mike!
Good for you, sounds delightful and yummy, but how will I get my barn fix? Great shot of the Captain by the way.
Honestly, I was just telling Judy that we need to get into the country to find some barns.
Well, that’s a start.
I’ll do the best I can, I promise.
thanks, i’m waiting.
I’m not much for the sea, but there is something about boats in dack.
. . . dock!
Yes there is!
You’re here already! Okay give me a call after Christmas!
Hi George. If we are going to be heading up that way, I’ll let you know. Good cheer to you.
