Driving the thumb was always a favorite trip of ours, as well as heading up to Mackinaw along the Eastern coast. Did you do that on your bike, or by car?
By plane. Only had m-f to play in. My friend was good enough to drive me around for photos. A bike trip would be great. Maybe a motorhome towing a car next summer, with extended time.
Definitively a motorhome, so you can also head up the UP. I loved going up there. We had a cabin near Detour, MI, back in the days when going up there meant truly being out of touch – - – no phone service at the cabin, and the cellular service was not up there yet.
It was waterfront on Lake Huron . . . I should probably post photos from back then.
Well doesn’t that sound nice. So Lake Huron from the top side. I can well imagine how amazing the UP would be, and perhaps we will make our way up there.
Really pretty image, Mike. The color of the sky reminds me of the Caribbean, therefore I must have a Margarita tonight.
Mike, I am not sure if you accept awards or not, but I wanted to acknowledge your contributions to my growth as a blogger.
I am inviting you to the Ligo Circle of Appreciation. This is not an award per se, but a chance to highlight 2 bloggers per day for 22 days in October.
No problem Mike; I wanted to acknowledge the wonders of ordinary in extraordinary you share.
Thanks man.
Very nice shot Mike. This one is very cool:The layers and intermingling of the wood, stone, metal and grass is visually flavorful! One very awesome ( I know it is an overused word but if it fits….just saying) picture!
I had to come by and see this one since I commented about how I’m used to seeing grass and other growth around barns. Really great barn, Mike. More like what I’m used to, but I love the Colorado barns, too.
Holey Barn, Batman!
I bet there are bats in there. My friend had a barn in Michigan that was full of bats. Good morning Emilio.
Good morning, Mike.

Yes, you must! Good morning e.
Beautiful photo, Mike! Love how clear the image is, and the green grass is a breath of fresh air
Fresh air was certainly available up there. Thank you Gracie.
This is a nice cheery pic, bright grass, blue sky and a stately barn, handsome despite its ragged appearance!
Handsome and ragged can co-exist. At least I hope so.
Thanks Lois.
I have to post a pic of this abandoned barn I saw last month. I thought if your shots!
Do it.
Greeny, greeny, greeny & grey, grey, grey = me likes!
Thank you Tonto.
Wasn’t Tonto the Lone Ranger’s indian friend?
Yes, and he spoke like you spoke in your comment, except I find it much easier and more pleasant to listen to you
Ha ha ha ha!
What a lovely rural scene! I love the weathered wood and stone textures of the barn. The roof looks pretty new.
The roof does look the better for it. There are a lot of metal roof there that maybe weather really well.
Thank you.
I love photos of old barns. Great shot Mike.
Thanks LuAnn.
Lovely old barn Mike.
Aye. Thanks T.

All good stuff jagged. ‘Visually flavorful’ is very cool. Thanks a bunch my brother.

If I can make you happy, Robin, then I am happy as well. Your comments are always well received.
