I recently spent some time with an old friend who lives in Port Austin, Michigan. I came home with many images and had a great time. It is a wonderful thing to replenish self.
This colorful window was the first image I shot and was part of a large empty building.

Welcome back Mike, glad you had time to recharge the batteries.
Thanks Adrian. Nice to hear from you.
Glad you like Michigan! Port Austin is about an hour from my location near Flint. Welcome back!
I love Michigan. Wooded and beautiful. I drove right past Flint on my way down. Thanks John.
Love the photo! Glad you enjoyed your time in Michigan!
Thank you my sweet and talented friend.
Welcome back Mike, looking forward to more of your pictures from your trip.
Thank you Chill brother.
Love LOVE LOVE THIS! Excellent find.
I love it as well. Saw it from several hundred yards away. Thank you so much.
Love the color and texture. Welcome back, Mike. Looking forward to your Michigan series.
Gracious comment and a sincere thank you. It was great to be away, and so very nice to be back home.
I can relate.
I would love to tag along with you, learning how to spot the doors and windows that you so expertly photograph.
And I would enjoy your company, so let me know when and I’m there.
And thank you very much.
Looks to me like someone doesn’t “do” windows there….
It is a very laid back place. People mostly fish and drink beer…:)
Sounds good to me….
Glad you had a good time in Port Austin. Coincidentally, we are from the Pigeon/Caseville area. You would have had to pass through Caseville to get to Port Austin on M25. Caseville is home to the Cheeseburger Festival.
So looking forward to seeing more glimpses of home.
Maria
Maria, I enjoyed a great shrimp dinner on the river in Caseville. That whole stretch along Lake Huron in fabulous and I had a week of perfect weather. I found many amazing barns there and captured some nice images. And I heard about the cheeseburger festival which I think is hilarious. Thanks for the comment. Come back again.
Nice image Mike! I am glad you had a great time on vacation! Most northerners like beer and carry schnapps in the winter!
I rent a whiskey carrying Saint Bernard for the winter, and take him wherever I go.
Thanks Lori.
What great colours and shades! Do you always see everything you photograph or do you get surprises when you look at your pics?
Sometimes they are better than I thought, sometimes not as good. But usually I have a pretty good feel for them. Thank you for this nice comment Lois.
Cool shot and looking forward to more! Glad to see you back – hope you enjoyed your trip!
Thanks Michael. My trip was really good for me and I’m just beginning to understand to what extent.
What’s really nice is to come back to thoughtful comments from friends like you.
Purdy! I bet it was nice to have a change of scenery!
Noodles! Yes, a change of scenery, good friends, enhanced sense of self, and new adventures. All good stuff.
Thanks.
I should comment more just cause you make me smile with your “Noodles!” : )
Welcome back Mike, and you know how I love windows. These are no exception. Wonderful!
Thanks Alex. Nice to be home with my cyber family.
The colours in that window are beautiful and the diagonal composition works very well.
I thought so as well. Thank you very much.
No doors? Strange, so very strange…

Thank you.
Welcome back, Mike!
I really like this image. It almost looks like a painting on a canvas.
Thanks Robin. That is pretty much how I feel as well.
Windows are my favorites. I love the blue in this one. Glad you had a good vacation.
Thank you, and thank you again.
