It’s sunny, the colours are light and bright, but somehow it’s more than sad and deserted, it’s waiting… I’m not sure what for, but it’s definitely waiting…
I like that you can feel that. I fear that its days as a motel are over. Given the rural setting, it might serve as migrant housing or perhaps just be torn down.
Thanks for the look and comment Lois.
I think it’s hilarious that a “deserted”, emply place has a sign on the tree that says, “Quiet Time 9am-9pm”! Who’s going to be making the noise? And… Who’s going to be hearing it if there’s any noise made?? Kinda reminds me of the old, “if a tree in a forest falls, and there’s no one to hear it, does it still make a noise?”
I once made “home” visits to similar places to visit clients. I much prefer the boarded up variety.
Gunta is a sweetie. Now I have to work on making you blush Scott.
I always hated when school teachers told me it was quiet time. I remember thinking for a few of them that it should be “diet time”…if you don’t eat your meat, you can’t have any pudding!
Great title. Unexpected image – yet perfectly observed.
Nice comment. Well phrased and appreciated.
Looks like what used to be a school, and now looks lonely. Love the colors though.
It was a motel. No tell motel.

Your posts, so versed in irony… reinforcing so many images around us of late.
Irony Mike, as opposed to Iron Mike.

Pretty sure I saw this place. Very cool picture!
Hi Holly. Very cool comment, my friend.
Ahhh… my kind of motel. Lots of quiet and privacy. Amazing how you find these gems.
You might be the gem here, Gunta.
This great irony, Loved it. Thanks and Love, nia
Irony indeed! Thanks Nia.
Used to visit those places when they still had real doors and windows…looking for people…catching glimpses of unimaginable lives inside….
Well done, Mike…and it was nice to see that you made Gunta blush.

I understand that preference, Mike…. And yes, Miss Gunta is a sweetie.
Good luck with that last part….
