My new blogging friend Carol and I recently found some images in a tiny town in Northern Colorado. Here is Carol’s stunning image of the exterior of what would have been a general store.
My contribution is a closer look at the front of this building revealing a colorful palette.

It’s not a very complete paint job, that, is it? Nice though.
No, but as you say it ends up looking kind of nice, that patch work.
AWESOME! That one *definitely* had bolts of gingham. Along with jars of penny candy and ten gallon hats.
I would have two hats, 5 gallons each. And I’d buy you a gingham dress and some liquorice.
What a great remnant of the Wild West. Too bad it cannot be preserved just as it stands, like a historic artwork for future generations and people like us to enjoy.
Agreed, and I had no sense that anyone there cared about this property. It sits in the middle of nowhere off a country road. If it was preserved, no one would know.
Make the rural country historic and organize guided tours through the State (My latest grandiose business scheme).
You be the money and I’ll be the driver. We’ll go 50/50.
Collaborative art is about as good as it gets…. great fun.
Yes, but I prefer to fly alone.
Seems to me it used to be some sort of shop with a big sign on top.
Yeah, probably a grocery or general store. Even a feed store I suppose. Good night, Marielba.
Great collaborative effort!
Thanks.
Haha! I was gonna say, “We took the same exact image!” I actually have a close-up of the door I was gonna post today
Good job on the link!
Get on my bike and lets go find some more….I have a helmet for you.
Sorry! Not in a million years! lol
Have a good summer Carol.
You too! Ya know – it’s just cuz I hate those things. School registration tomorrow – the rest will be nuts!
Mike every time I open your posts I am so impressed with your pictures and composition. Love your commentary as well. Well done. Thanks! Keep up the great work.
Well thank you!
here’s to new friends and run down buildings!
I’d rather find a bag of stolen loot.
